Summary:
The .NET Framework is a new computing platform that simplifies application development in a highly distributed environment of the Internet. As part of the migration exercise, the Warranty module of CSN EMEA has been converted to run on .Net Framework. The existing CSN EMEA application was built on three-tiered architecture that has the Presentation layer built on ASP, middle layer built on VB components and the database layer built with Oracle 8i. Only the Presentation and Business Layers of the Warranty Module of CSN EMEA required the modifications for migration. The database layer continues to function as it exists today. The Migrated .NET Framework, will have the ASP.NET as hosting environment, VB.NET classes as the middle layer and Oracle 8i as the database.
